A Planner's Essentials

The essentials of any Emergency Kit is so important and depending on the type of event, will determine what you will want to add!! A little bit over month ago, I posed the question "What are Your GO - TO items for a Wedding Emergency Kit" specifically; and the world of IG provided some awesome SUGGESTIONS!!

Below are just a few of my favorites:

Nail file & CHALK! - What if you break a nail? You most definitely do not want to be walking around your event with a half chipped nail bed, no ma'am!! Make sure to always pack a strong nail file with a solid buffing block to ease out those edges!! Chalk is a safe and lovely little hack for the bride (or anyone else who is wearing white) who might have caught an unfortunate stain. Applying Tide 2 Go can cause discoloration; especially on neutral colors. But Chalk helps to lighten the stain & comes right off when sent to the cleaners!

Needle & Thread - Before we get to it, I just want to say I am very thankful for all of the Grandmother's and women of a certain generation who thought it necessary to teach the younger generation, what they would deem a "life" skill. All of the eye rolling was definitely worth it :) Just the other day, one of the straps on a client's dress suddenly snapped. I can't tell you the relief I had, knowing that a needle and thread was an easy fix.

Floss & A Small Mirror - The WORST is having something in your teeth and a tooth pic not being able to reach the spot. NOBODY wants dirty teeth in their photos. Trust me, in events and in life...you can't go wrong with some floss!!! Brownie points if the floss is minted flavored (kill 2 birds with 1 stone, lol).

Clear Nail Polish - The oldest trick in the book for stopping a run in your tights. Not the greatest solution for colored tights, but more usual than not, clear or neutral tights absorb the polish quite nicely!

Bobby Pins - Are not only useful for your hair or for a veil, but can also be used to keep other small items (such as business cards) in your emergency kit in order. They're also a great wardrobe alternative if a safety pin is not an option!

Kleenex - I mean...this goes without saying!! No Explanation here :)

What do you think? Is there anything that should be added? Feel free to leave a comment below. Until next time!!
